Facility Technician
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with the escort and oversite of trades vendors performing technical maintenance work
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks within a government high rise
- Responsible to document work orders for work being performed within the computerized maintenance management system (Building Engines).
- Must be knowledgeable of all equipment, equipment rooms and sub-contractor responsibilities
- Assist with the building key system working in conjunction with the locksmith.
- Responsible for helping with the daily workflow in the mailroom, ensuring prompt and efficient set up of conference rooms (when applicable) and mail distribution.
- Responsible for daily mail processing, including metering, sorting, delivery of mail within the facility and loading and unloading trucks.
- Process and properly document all incoming and outgoing international packages and mail
- Maintain and stock supplies in mailroom areas with necessary supplies.
- Ability to perform set-ups, breakdowns and/or clean ups of conference rooms.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all incoming courier and messenger packages.
- Assist in processing, receiving and retrieving storage boxes to and from our off-site facility.
- Prepare outgoing packages being shipped via UPS, FedEx in accordance with the carrier's shipping guidelines to best insure timely delivery.
- Retrieve mail from the post office on a daily basis and drop off end of day mail that requires special processing.
- Delivery of paper and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Completes work in accordance with UG2 Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.

Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree in Business or related field; 3-5 years’ experience in similar role in a high tech environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate and apply the concepts of figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be a team player with high energy and drive for continuous improvement
• Must be flexible to work nights and weekends on occasion to support special events or functions.
• Two years of experience in customer service environment
• Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license for driving MassDOT vehicle and acceptable driving record
• Superb communication skills on the phone and in person for help-desk related tasks
• Ability to conduct regular tours of facility
• Understanding of audio-video equipment (PA systems, conference phones, projectors, etc.)
• Must be a self-starter that can work independently.
