We are looking for a handyperson with a strong work ethic and a good overall knowledge and ability of multiple trades for general maintenance and repairs. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills for interaction with a variety of clients, fellow employees and the management team. Knowledge of the surrounding community and personal/professional connections in the industry is a plus. The Handyperson needs to be able to complete a full project cycle through quoting, ordering and scheduling the installation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working in facility environments with good management skills.

Responsibilities and qualifications for the role include but are not limited to:

• Weekly meetings with facility manager to review various projects.
• Maintenance and facility repair
• Ability to perform minor electrical and plumbing
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Fix doors and change locks as needed.
• Repair electrical gadgets.
• Repair plumbing appliances.
• Repair and replace general hardware.
• Remove stains and paint building when necessary.
• Attend to members of staff promptly when called upon.
• Good knowledge of electrical works.
• Good knowledge of carpentry.
• Have a positive attitude at work.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

High School degree or GED equivalent

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience in facility maintenance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including retail hours, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Ability to go to different clients’ sites and perform general maintenance
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
• Move and lift (up to 50lbs) and perform all functions required
